All of our stuff has been packed up, loaded up, and hauled away for it’s journey to Alaska. Monkey watched as they drove away with it all yesterday, and even though we’ve been talking to her about this move for a while she was still quite upset. She stood at the back door and cried, then she waved and said “Bye bye stuff I’ll see you in Alaska.” When everything was gone and the house was totally empty, we cleaned in preparation for today’s final inspection.
This morning we met the carpet cleaner who was done in about thirty minutes (we only had two small rooms with carpet.) We called the housing office this morning to see about getting our final inspection moved up from this afternoon to this morning, and they were very accommodating. So the woman came about 10:30 and spent all of three minutes in our house. Hubby had been sweating the inspection, as we had both heard some horror stories about it. Then again, the house we lived in was built in the 1950’s and was supposed to be demolished in 2007, but that didn’t happen. We really don’t think they care too much about that housing area. Our house was renovated before we moved in, by renovating it, they added industrial grade carpet and ceiling fans in the bedroom. On our pre move in paperwork it states that our oven was in need of a new ignitor. They never repaired it and only two of the eyes worked even after multiple work orders. Not to mention that there was a huge scorch mark on it. Just my opinion here, but if you’re renovating, would you not put it working appliances? They recently painted the whole neighborhood and my hubby said “You can’t put makeup on a pig.” I’ll say that we are glad to be out of there, even though as of today, we are officially homeless!
