16 Week Check up Comes with Embarrassment!

I went to my 16 week check-up yesterday and Monkey had to go with me. Everything with the baby is fine and I go back in six weeks.
Anyway, while Monkey and I were waiting a young couple sat down next to us. My ever observant Monkey looked at the young man and then looked at me and in a not so quiet voice said “Mommy, that boy has an earring.” I shook my head yes and said “That’s ok.” She looked back at him and then at me and said “Boy’s don’t wear earrings.” I was at a loss, what was I supposed to say, so I just said “Well, sometimes some boys do and that’s ok, it’s none of our business.” She looked at me and shook her head no and then announced “It’s not ok, Mommy.” I know I turned a half a dozen shades of red, I was incredibly embarrassed, and so absolutely relieved when they were called to the back!

One Little Monkey…Update

I took Monkey to the hospital yesterday to see the orthopedist for her collar bone. I am happy to report that the bone is healed. She was able to take off the sling and now we are supposed to encourage her to move her shoulder. She was trying yesterday and made some progress. We don’t have to go back unless she is still in pain in ten days or has not made any significant progress with moving it.
